Version 26.9Your workflow, your way.
Move tasks where they belong, keep your favorite views close, and put your Board in order. NowThis 26.9 brings more control over your lists, smoother task entry, and more reliable Nextcloud sync.
Highlights
Move tasks, keep the details
Move a task and its nested subtasks between lists, accounts, and Vault Mode. Tags, reminders, locations, and linked journals come along.
Keep your favorite views close
Choose and reorder up to three middle tabs, or hide them all. Tasks and Settings stay available, and other views open from a list's title menu.
A Board that follows your moves
Drop cards between columns, reorder within a column, and keep your manual order. Your selected list stays with you through sync and relaunch.
All improvements
Organization
- Move to List… is available from a task's menu, a Board card's menu, or List in task details. Moving an individual subtask asks before making it a top-level task.
- Moving into or out of shared lists changes where other members see a task. Read-only lists cannot be selected as destinations or moved out of; a refused move returns to its source with an error.
- Settings → Tab Bar lets you choose and reorder Board, Calendar, Matrix, and Smart Lists. Open App To can choose one of your configured tabs or a Smart List.
- Default List for New Tasks applies across the app, Calendar, Siri, Shortcuts, and Apple Watch. An explicit list choice takes precedence, and Recovered Tasks is skipped while an ordinary list is available.
Board and task entry
- Board cards land where you drop them. The destination column is highlighted, and holding a card at the edge scrolls to another column.
- Status and Lists remember the same selected list through sync, tab changes, and relaunch. Subtasks stay with their parent's card, and empty lists have clearer messages.
- Search stays visible when you return to Tasks. Adding and completing tasks is faster on large accounts.
- The quick-add bar uses Liquid Glass on iOS 26 and later and follows the system tint setting on iOS 27. iOS 18 keeps its familiar appearance.
Nextcloud sync
- Server completions and other remote changes reach the app even when device clocks differ. Supported server priorities map correctly to High, Medium, or Low.
- Server tags reach existing tasks without discarding local additions, and local tag edits upload. Commas, semicolons, and backslashes inside a tag name round-trip correctly.
- List name and color edits survive sync. Changes made offline stay queued until they can be sent.
- Deleting a parent also deletes its nested subtasks on the server. Tasks awaiting deletion are not recreated by a pull.
- Server deletions protect unsynced edits and local-only tasks. Incomplete responses cannot trigger deletion; trashed Nextcloud lists are skipped with a notice and can return after you restore them on the server.
- Background sync refreshes the screen you return to and links incoming subtasks to their parents. Start times on all-day due dates are preserved, and a start date the server cannot accept is kept locally.
Dates and reminders
- Repeating tasks appear once in Upcoming and Overdue, showing their next actual deadline.
- Completing a repeating task through Siri, Shortcuts, or a Home Screen widget advances its next occurrence. Board completion stops finished-task reminders and advances recurring dates consistently.
- Due dates schedule notifications and badge updates across creation paths, including Vault Mode and Watch quick-add. Rescheduling moves the alert; repeating tasks schedule their next reminder.
- A short overdue notification accompanies automatic badge updates. Turning off Badges for NowThis in iOS Settings stops these automatic overdue alerts.
Apple Watch
- Quick-add gains due presets: None, Today, Tomorrow, and Next Week. Choose High, Medium, or Low priority while adding a task.
- A dictated date takes precedence over a selected preset. Presets keep the date you chose if delivery to iPhone is delayed.
- Watch-created tasks use the same default list and reminder scheduling as your phone. Due and Priority choices expose their selected states to VoiceOver.
- Browsing and complications remain included with the app. Creating and completing tasks on Apple Watch require the existing one-time NowThis Pro unlock.
Home Screen widgets
- Widgets use the app's language instead of choosing another fallback language.
- Repeating-task completion and imported priorities follow the same behavior as the app.
Stability and accessibility
- Fixed crashes when accounts, lists, tasks, tags, or filters disappear while their content is on screen or syncing.
- Fixed iOS 18 navigation crashes when opening Journals, linked journal entries, or views omitted from the tab bar.
- VoiceOver gains Move to List… and Board actions for Move to Top, Move Up, Move Down, and Move to Bottom. Move pickers announce accounts, current selections, and read-only states.
- Subtask and tag-removal buttons have clearer names. New controls are translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch, and Pro copy explains how purchases support continued development.
